Will HS2 train benefit Londoners since hardly any want to commute up north?

Update:

This article says there will be almost 15,000 seats an hour on the trains

No! Why the hell would anyone want to go up there? It's cold and full of people in silly hats who can't speak properly.

Part (most?) of the justification for the new rail link is that trains to and from the North are at bursting point, and that more passenger carrying capacity is needed.

You overlook the Northern Powerhouse. As many do.

HS2 never was intended for the daily commute of the masses.

The point of it is to facilitate business communications, not commuting, really.
