Do I need to take prednisone with gout? Does it really help or worth the side effects?

For the past week and a half my toe was hurting, went to the doctor a few days ago and they said it’s gout, prescribed me indocim and prednisone for it but after reading the side effects I don’t wanna take prednisone. Should I take it anyways? It still hurts and my Uric acid level is 8.9 but my doctor said it should be a 8.0 or under

If its a short course relatively low dose, the side effects of prednisone are pretty minimal. You could try just the indocin, or you could try and tough it out too.

Well I certainly wouldn't take anything if the doc prescribed it but would rely on the morons on Yahoo to tell me what is best
