Do you think it's immature or tacky for an adult to utilize a bunk bed?

I have a very small living space, and so I bought a bunk bed with a desk underneath to utilize space better. In turn, people rag on me about it because they say it makes my room look like it belongs to a child.

Do you think it's taboo for an adult to use a bunk bed?

It's all in the name. A "loft bed" sounds more grown up. Do what works for you. You might find that putting a curtain track in the ceiling along the bed and drawing the curtain when you have company makes the place look tidier and shuts your impolite guests up.

Tacky ? Taboo ? No one cares. there are more important things to worry about. Enjoy, it sounds like a good idea for your situation. It's always, always cool being unique.

Yes. It suggests you are never anticipating sharing it with another.

A double murphy wall bed would be a much better choice, take up less space

and be far more like a bachelor pad than a kiddie's room.

Then that's their problem. It sounds very sensible to me.

No, it's practical and basically necessary. I've seen this setup many times on videos. It's rude and naive for anyone to comment negatively about it.

Determining your life choices based on what other people think? Even if they're small and mean next to nothing in the end?

Do you always have to have other people validate you to make you feel worthwhile?

I think it's a clever use of space. Good for you.

    I only see one issue.

At some point you might want to bring someone one home and a bunk bed would be awkward for sex.

Otherwise, you need to do what works for you.

I slept in bunk beds for many years in the Army as an adult no big deal
