Why is California the least educated state?

California ranks No. 1 among the 50 states for the percentage of its residents 25 and older who have never completed ninth grade and 50th for the percentage who have graduated from high school, according to new data from the Census Bureau.

Still looking for these numbers per capita. Liberal California comes in last, but conservative Texas comes in next to last and Mississippi and Alabama are in the bottom 10. CNS makes no bones about being a right wing conservative website.

in the 1980s the state ranked in the top 5....but that was also the time when the state voted GOP in 3 consecutive Presidential elections....

...when democrats regained control in the 1990s, they vowed that would never happen again...in addition to gerrymandering numerous districts, they embarked on educational "reforms" that lowered standards ... primarily in minority districts..

first, they asserted that enforcing one set of English standards was "racially biased"...launching a series of programs (like ESL) that lowered standards specifically for Spanish speaking students...

that...of course... led to generations of young Hispanic students graduating high school who were unable to enter the mainstream labor market...which kept them handily dependent and in place in their democratically-controlled districts..

predictably...to some at least... these programs led to a decline in academics across the board... just last year, a study was released showing that less than half of graduating seniors from the Los Angeles Unified School district could meet the minimum English proficiency requirements for state and community colleges...

There is no new data from the census bureau. The most recent data is ten years old, and new data won’t start being gathered until next year.

But the answer to your question is charter schools. We let our states republicans funnel education dollars away from real schools, and into these strip mall corporate scams popping up all over that don’t teach anybody anything. Whoever came up with that crap should be tossed in jail for fraud.

Trump requested them to be made the least educated state. He done this so that they could be a laughing stock. It is unknown why he chose them for this in particular. Most people suspect it is cruelty for cruelty's sake. It is most likely a brutal psychological trick to make Californians think "Why us?"

They have the sixth largest economy in the world. As an independent nation they would rank sixth. They have the most solar panels, the cleanest air, and the longest and best beaches on the planet. When you have all that going for you, you don't need to stay inside and read. You surf!
