Mike Tenay explained on WCW Programs more than 20 years ago about Mexican Lucha Libre Heritage and Tradition. Not only is it tradition, The Professional Wrestling Promotions and The Wrestlers make money selling Replica Masks at The Merchandise Stands. Do you have any idea how much money WWE makes off selling Replica Masks for Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and Lucha House Party? A lot.

    It's tradition.

Also so they seem like another person in the ring - like a superhero. Plus, it keeps them out of the limelight, a lot of Mexicans don't like publicity and this helps keep personal lives and work lives separate.

    Tradition.

Or it could be many wrestlers perform under the same name, so disguise themselves with a mask.
