That is a challenge that all of us face. As humans we are very insecure to begin with. We want to be seen as the best version of ourselves in the eyes of people that we care about. However, it is a rare blessing and people will talk and be negative. You need to understand that what they say it is not about you. (took me 5 years to truly understand that). It is their ego speaking, their personal limits and sometimes their petty thinking. You have to rise above that because you have only one life to live and you can't afford to live in fear or insecurity. Focus on you and what you want to accomplish, find support groups and people who feel positive and passionate about what you do, meditate/pray and work on a healthy self love. Once you fully embrace yourself as a person and become your own friend, their negative talk won't hurt you as much, you might actually smile about it and think it is ok and accept their negativity.
