Is my listening comprehension in Spanish really, really improving or is it just all in my head?

I must be dreaming. Because I'm 28 years old and the only language I understand and comprehend very well is English. My whole life has been spent in only English. But ever since I started playing video games set in Spanish, for some odd reason, even without any subtitles, I'm starting pick up (catch what they're saying) without even trying. It's interesting because when I first attempted to keep up with the speed, it made my head spin, and now, I'm catching more and more what they're saying.

I can't believe it. How am I doing this? What's going on?

Yes, listening comprehension improves when it is in the context of activities that engage your interest.
