Is this legal in football?

I was lined up on a receiver at the line of scrimmage and when the ball was snapped I put my hand on him because I know as usual Im allowed to make contact with the receiver within 5 yards of the LOS, the receiver then grabbed me more towards my backside and threw me, it was a pass play so I slipped up and he got past me and got open but thankfully it wasnt thrown to him, is he allowed to do that?

It's up to the ref to decide if he held you or just threw you aside.

He's not allowed to grab you. But, it's only legal if it's not seen by a ref. Also, if he didn't visibly tug on your jersey. By you slipping up it may have gone unnoticed. But, not it isn't legal.

Yeah I was thinking that he like sort of just tried pushing me or yanking me out of the way
