United Kingdom vs Nazi Germany, 1939. No allies on either side. Who would have won and why?

      Bit of a silly question, since there was no chance at all of no other country getting involved on either side - same as in WW1. But note Britain did have the English Channel as a first form of defence, as was proven in August/September 1940.

    You have to define what you mean by "won."

    And since you have established "no allies" will Germany have to only attack by sea?

    We know Germany was incapable of invading UK.

    The Germans was building up arms for nearly two decades.

    Where as Britain went to sleep thinking it is all over

    The Germans for sure. They almost won the war with barely any help. If it wasn’t for Russia I think the world wouldn’t have stood a chance.
