Why can't you buy Panasonic TV's in the US anymore no in best buy or Walmart?

I thought Panasonic were the best TV brand and humiliate Sony and Samsung or am I wrong.

Panasonic says it will stop making TV panels by end-September

    Technology News

    May 31, 2016 /

Its Himeji plant will continue to produce screens for vehicle dashboards and medical equipment, but output will drop to a quarter of the current 810,000 units a month in terms of 32-inch panels, Panasonic said.

Some of Panasonic’s television sets already use panels from rival manufacturers such as South Korea’s LG Display Co Ltd.

Unfortunately, Panasonic doesn't see the US as a good market right now.

Too many cheapskate consumers and not enough smart ones.

I'm disappointed, too, because it is, so far as I can tell, the best brand.

There should be a way to import one, if at a considerable additional cost.

Since today's TVs have universal power supplies,

there should be no concern about voltage and frequency.

One problem might be the built-in tuner,

which will not necessarily be capable of ATSC reception,

but if you don't care about over - the - air, that won't matter.

Warranty coverage will probably not be available.

(But who needs a warranty if the thing isn't likely to fail to start with?)
