In her case, yes, the best defense is a good offense. By hiring expensive PR company Gogerty-Marriott she was able to pull the wool over the eyes of some members of the American public (the uninformed ones who did not read about the significant evidence that contradicted her alibi, such as cell phone data, as well the numerous items of evidence that pointed to her involvement).

However, truth usually wins out in the end. She has aged before her years and online commentary suggests that the large majority of people think she is a horrible person and sociopath as well as GUILTY.

I am with you - guilty - she gets good defence from USA, who think they should protect their own - but they should draw the line at murderers.

She was invited to speak by a society that knows what it did was a terrible travesty of justice.

She has every right to be aggrieved at the Italian judicial system which railroaded her into prison .

The senior investigators in that case simply decided ,on their gut instinct, that she was the culprit and then went about bending any piece of evidence or utterance to support that misconception. -- and the Italian judicial system went along with it despite the blatant anomalies .

But whether she's right to open old wounds is another matter.

In short ,she will always be guilty in your eyes , no matter what the facts say -- same with the McCann's no doubt.
