What is the amount of heat involved in calories given off when 25 g of water cools from 86oC to 61oC?

heat given off ....
q = -mcΔT = 25g x 1.00 cal/gC x 25C = -625 cal
..... be sure to include the units
..... must be rounded to two significant digits ......... -630 cal
..... the negative sign indicates that the heat is being given off.

Heat energy = Mass * Specific heat * ∆ T
The specific heat is 1 cal/(g * T)
Q = 25 * 1 * (86 – 61) = 625 calories
I hope this is helpful for you.
