There is an enzyme/mold that does make it disintegrate and is best if it is buried in most cases because the fumes would burn up oxygen and hurt lungs. It is better for little babies to use cloth diapers and only use plastic when on vacations. I know a place where an airport was built on top of an old garbage dump and it has beautiful green fields for the small airport there so the pilots can enjoy the view. Plastic diapers made my child's bum break out.

That in itself is a waste of resources.

Far better to recycle the plastic into stuff like outdoor furniture or agricultural pipes.

But by far the best solution is to stop packaging everything in plastic to begin with. We never had all this plastic 60 years ago, and got by perfectly well, so it is about time we learned something from how we did things back then.

When plastic is burned, dangerous, cancer-causing chemicals called dioxins are released. Humans exposed to dioxins suffer from reduced immune systems; and their hormones are affected as well. The planet is doomed.

The "greens" do not understand that it would result in a reduction of pollution. Once they were against incineration thirty years ago, they can not change even if incineration has become much more advanced. In South Korea, they do use incineration.

Because of the risk of toxic fumes.

That just converts ground pollution into air pollution (and we have enough air pollution already).

wastes something that COULD be recycled AND puts fumes into the air ...............

Because that fouls the air with dangerous pollutants.
