Can someone suggest me a songwriter who even approaches the same level as John Lennon from The Beatles? I have a feeling you probably can't.?

The only person I've heard who even stands a chance is Scott Stapp from Creed.

Lennon wrote a lot of pretty poor songs as well. Check most of his post-Beatles output.

I prefer Beth Hart. Her range of topics and musical styles rivals John Lennon's.

I can suggest a few thousand songwriters who are better than Lennon. He was a whining hippie.

As great as Lennon was, McCartney was better. But no one tops Bob Dylan.

Zapata: or 'I Have A Dream', 'The Winner Takes It All'.. Abbas one of most popular bands in history (140 Mill. sales). Andersson was made Hon. Prof. by Swedish Govt. for his song lyrics.

Robert Hunter, Carole King, Sandy Denny, Bob Dylan, to name a few. It's all subjective anyway.
