Why won’t BluRay player read BluRay discs?

My BluRay player is reading regular DVDs but not BluRay discs. What could be the problem and how do I fix it?

It's likely a laser\mechanical issue. Unfortunately blue ray players are pretty much disposable these days.

The laser diode has died to replace it. A repair shop that fixes game consoles would help.

If you're lucky, a firmware update may correct the issue.

    The thing is...

    You DON't fix it.

If anyone can, it will be an audio/video repair shop.

Without knowing what make and model of player you have, no one can guess.

If it's not playing any BluRay discs and it used to play them, then I'd say it's broken, and you need a new one.
