Is Navy Fed or USAA better to bank with?

I’m starting a new bank account for myself and have been stuck between these two.

No. Neither is better for every customer. Both are better for specific customers.

I see no reason you shouldn't also try traditional banks and credit unions....

Here is a novel thought, do your banking with a BANK, USAA is an Insurance Co, that acts as a bank.

I would say neither. It is always best to pick a bank that has actual physical locations just in case you have an issue and need to talk to someone face to face.

You can open both. I had Navy Federal and they are very good. USAA has lots of good insurance deals along with their banking.
