why do atheists criticize Christians over the stereotype that we burn books but then often say that the Bible should be used as toilet paper?

and as materia for camp fires?

First off Christians don't burn books.

Secondly see which countries ban books the most (hint: atheist).

Hmmmm...geee...so, are you claiming you bunch don't burn books?

Orrr....are you arguing that atheists shouldn't use books as paper?

I guess I don't understand what your question really is.

I don't advocate burning books, ever. That being said, a book which is widely available, and is printed on delicate paper, often makes really good rolling papers, so....you know, practical need may overcome philosophical reluctance, and then there's the fact that the bible's fictional and stupid, and often the source of hurt and hate, so....I'd twist one, if I had no alternative.

None of the atheists I know say any book should be used a toilet paper.

When Christers burn books they burn the authors with them. When atheists use the buybull to wipe the crap off their bung hole they're not murdering the authors. They're just properly disrespecting ludicrous content.

Have you ever *tried* starting a fire with a Bible? The things don't light worth a damn.

Didn't know this was a widely held view, by either side. Only fringe extremists of both sides do this I think. I have never seen any or heard any local stories of that nature as well.

While I understand that is a stereotype, I rather doubt that it is a commonly held one.

I've actually never heard anyone talk about book burning in relation to Christians. What do you mean? Do you burn books?
