Do Both. Enlist in the Military (Air Force for Example) After Boot Camp and other training and when your at your first duty station - contact the Base Education Office and sign up for College Classes. You take these classes ON BASE during your off duty time. You can't do a full college load but it is a start.

    Why not do both?

It also depends on how you are set up currently. Can you afford to go to college? Many people join for the college benefits and end up doing both. Plus having Veteran on you resume alongside a college degree will make you a easy pick which goes back to my original answer... WHY NOT DO BOTH?

You're less likely to be killed if in college.

Depends on your situation and what you plan on doing in the military. There are things you can pursue in the military and college/university that won't really help you get a good job in the civilian world.
