Are car insurance companies required to give a cancellation notice before canceling your policy?

    No I never got one only found out i was cancelled after an accident

    Not if you have broken the conditions of the contract. For example if you just lost your licence due to a drink driving charge why should they be compelled to cover you once they are notified?

    Yes. Insurance companies are required to send you a cancellation notice.

    That depends on a) where you live and b) why your policy has been cancelled.

    YES! 30 day notice so you have time to get replacement coverage.

    Auto insurance is almost never canceled unless payments have stopped. You know if payments have stopped.

      No. On auto pay. both Wells. Fargo and a credit union stopped paying. ATTAT & T sent back checks from Chase.
