My employer is not letting me work!?

So I am employed full time as a mental health support worker 37.5 hours a week. Yesterday I had to leave work early due to a medical issue. I had to have a catheter fitted for a week and was discharged same day. I asked my employer if I could work light duties int he offices doing paperwork. The employer has declined this. I am physically well. What are my options as I don’t want to use annual leave.

    If you are not able to perform your job, they are not required to create a new position for you. I have seen it happen, but only on Worker's Comp injuries.

    If you don't want to use leave, your other options are to take unpaid leave or quit.

    Your employers only possible obligation in this regard is to attempt to make reasonable accomodations if possible. If that is not possible there is no further obligation and you can be let go or forced to take annual leave.

    Your options are as follows:

    1. Work your NORMAL job.

    2. Take either paid or unpaid time off.

    3. Resign.

    If you have sick leave, vacation time, or other benefit time, you must use that all first. Then he can't fire you for a medical reason.

    Zero, if you aren't fit to do the job you were hired for, he doesn't have to let you do a different job.
