I'm also bald and I wear a hat in the summer time to keep the sun off of my head and out of my eyes. Hats can also come in handy for keeping the head dry when it rains.

In the winter, I wear a wool cap to keep my bald scalp (and ears) warm.

The top of the head is one of the most sensitive for sunburn, and skin cancer. Hats protect bald from from the harmful effects of solar exposure, as well as keeping the head warm in cooler weather.

They can also wear hats as a fashion statement, for personal preference, and for no reason at all.
