Is it normal for a clothes drier to steam up a small room?

I have looked outside and the exhaust duct blades are opening. But it am not sure the drier is perfectly aligned with the duct. Hence my question, is it normal for the room to heat up? Or should the duct conduct all that away?
Update: Ah! I went out and saw the vent was not preoperly lodged. Probably still isn't. But the clothes got dry for now. Need t investigate with a flashlight. I only have a straight tube, no flexible, so it takes precision to get it lined up. But it does line up. Thanks for the evidence.
