It’s obviously an incredibly impressive piece of architecture, like a beautiful symphony but constructed in stone, etc, complex and breathtaking, but it’s only a man-made structure, not God Himself. And a lot of people seem to be more concerned with it now than they are for the environment, which is God’s REAL cathedral, and without which we won’t survive. I think it’s disturbing that all these millionaires and billionaires who have so far given almost billion dollars to rebuild Notre Dame probably wouldn’t give that amount to poor people including children who are starving all over the world. And how many poor, starving people were dying all across France when this incredible edifice was being constructed with all the wealth the Catholic Church had amassed at that time? Did the custodians of this cathedral ever allow the homeless to shelter in it? I’ve only ever seen one small church that allowed the homeless to sleep inside on the pews, in NYC. So, what would Jesus think of all this?
