In the event someone has “the most dramatic pregnancy ever” and spends 7 hours in the ER just to get an IV drip. What should they do?

They apparently did what needed to be done if the ER gave them the drip.

That's hardly dramatic, except that they didn't go to L&D. Most ERs don't take maternity cases. ERs are required to treat life-threatening emergencies or things like broken bones/stitches first because they're more pressing, and referring patients straight to L&D cuts down on the maternity patient turning into a greater emergency.

NO idea what you are asking.
There are often long waits in the ER. And a woman who is unable to hold food or fluid down, may well end up in the ER getting IV fluids so she doesn't get dangerously dehydrated. This IS medical emergency.

Tell them to balance a cold water bottle on their forehead and on their stomach. If they ask why, just say it’ll work. Oh and it only works if they post a picture in their thread and if their name is Marissa (if on Twitter)

They should be in Labor and Delivery, not the emergency room.
