DumB on so many levels. In the military, the officer in charge of a whole office is often a lieutenant who just graduated from college and got his commission. It is his first job. The person who keeps him from going to prison the first year is his senior enlisted people, the chiefs, mostly who are alt least 10-15 years older than he is.
The RANK (experience) gives them authority. And they often do not obey the LT. who is learning how to lead.
In the real world, there might be a young woman who has worked at a place since high school, and knows how to do everything. Is she going to be the boss over an older woman who has been home with her kids for 20 years and knows nothing about the job? I would hope so.
As in anywhere else in life, kids do not know best just because they are young, and should be quiet and listen to experienced people.--young or old.
If your manager is a knucklehead, welcome to the world of work. If you hate it, get an education and be the boss you think she should be.
