Will they have to remove the lead roof before attempting to restore the roof which was damaged in the Notre Dame fire?

something like 240 tons of lead.

      About 75% of the roof was destroyed according to the article I read.

    roof is gone,my bet is they will replace it with copper,that ought to be something to look at

    Yes - have been wondering how much was vaporized in that heat - contaminating the air - potentially dangerous to the surrounding area. Boiling point of lead is about 3200 degrees F - assume that inferno was plenty hot.

    the lead melted. some of the remainder will likely have to be removed, yes

      The amount of heat from the fire I would only imagine that it had melted. It was one of the first things that I wondered about when I heard how much lead there was up there.
