How come Israel cant let Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank freely move and vote in Knesset elections?

Like, how come Gazans get shot for trying to walk across an artificial line in the sand?

They can't vote for Knesset because Gaza is not part of Israel and they are not Israeli citizens. About 20% of Israeli citizens ARE Palestinians, but none of these live in Gaza.

This would not mean they couldn't travel to Israel to work, shop, visit, or get medical care, and they used to do so. But there were too many terrorists taking advantage of this policy to bomb Israeli civilians, mainly children and women. Finally, to save the lives of Israeli children, Israel had to stop the old policy. It has worked; terrorist attacks in Israel are pretty much ended, except for the rocket bombings from Gaza.

    Hello Ian,

    The Asker's question:

"Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank freely move:.

    My response:

The regions about which the Asker enquires, form the autonomous Palestinian Territories to which the Palestinians agreed under the Oslo Accords. The Palestinians move freely both within those territories and also work in Israel traveling to and from the West Bank. Hamas which controls Gaza fires rockets whenever the fancy takes them, into Israel, causing the Israelis to impose economic restrictions.

The Palestinian Arabs do not wish to live under Israeli sovereignty, claim ALL the land of Israel and wish to expel or murder all its Jews. Thus the Palestinians opted to vote for their own governing body, though the Palestinians are somewhat overdue for holding any democratic elections.

In their question-details the Asker also enquired:

"how come Gazans get shot for trying to walk across an artificial line in the sand?"

    My response:

The real reason for the Palestinian “peaceful-rioting” at the Gaza border, is to assist Hamas-operatives break through the Gaza border fence to do terrorism in Israel.

The reason why the Palestinians burn tyres is to produce a smoke-screen to allow their operatives to get through the security fence unseen, in order to carry out terrorism in Israel; and many of the Palestinian casualties have since been identified as Hamas military operatives.

Palestinian “peaceful-rioters” seem unarmed but they would soon find weapons if they got through the Gaza border fence into Israel, where they would murder civilians; provided the victims are Israeli, and Jewish (see further below).

Thus Palestinian violence does not constitute a normal police matter, but rather is an ethnic / territorial conflict started by, and organized by, the Palestinians.

Israeli soldiers guarding the Gaza security fence are seeking to defend Israeli civilians from Palestinians seeking to break through it to carry out terrorism in Israel against Israeli Jewish civilians, including children. Many of the Palestinian casualties have been identified as Hamas and allied, military operatives.

You object, as you feel the Israeli defence at the Gaza border is “disproportionate” - Now try answering again if it is your mother, or your sister, or your child, (the Palestinians consider targets) in an Israeli town near to the Gaza border.

After all, Palestinians are paid a reward-“pension” for the murder of Israeli civilians, so long as those civilians are Jewish, including children (see source for murder of Hallel Yaffa Ariel aged 13, below) - No wonder anti-Semites feel such emotional-attachment to the Palestinians!

Let’s take a look at what allegedly “peaceful-protesting” means to the Palestinians:

For example, the clashes at the Gaza border in 2018:

The reader will have noticed pro-Palestinian contributors do not know, and likely also do not want to know, what Palestinians killed were doing, at the time of each incident.

See allegedly-“peaceful” Palestinian protest - Gaza border April 2018.

“The Israeli military on Saturday night identified 10 of the 15 people reported killed during violent protests along the Gaza security fence as members of Palestinian terrorist groups ...

    ...

According to the Israel Defense Forces [see website for Arabic link], eight of the men killed were members of Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip. One served in the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, and another was affiliated with “global jihad,” it said, apparently referring to one of the Salafist groups in Gaza.

Earlier on Saturday, Hamas publicly acknowledged that five members of its military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, were among the fatalities.”

So-called “Land Day”, and “Nakba Day”:

The Palestinians claim they want to breach the Gaza security fence to allegedly “go / return home” to those places in Israel from which they falsely-claim they were evicted in 1948:

There is no evidence of any general-policy to expel “Palestinian” Arabs. The 1947-48 war was started by the Arabs to oppose the U.N. Partition Plan and instead take ALL the land, and expel or murder the Jews from the Jews ancestral homeland of Israel. There were resulting refugees on both sides.

Let’s consider what “returning home” really means to the Palestinians:

It means their intention to take ALL the land and expel or murder the Jews, as clearly shown by the “Palestinian National Charter” and what is taught by Palestinian education system:

    https://www.quora.com/What-are-some-examples-of-an...

Further, the Palestinian claim of purported-“Return” means the use of the Palestinians unique, false, inherited refugee status obtained from the Arab-dominated U.N., to inflate their 500,000 unverified 1948 war refugees, into today’s alleged 5 million fake-refugees; a figure which in reality is simply a (fraudulent) means of “invading” Israel. - see the best-answer at:

the following two examples of what the Palestinians would seek to do:

Israeli girl, Hallel Yaffa Ariel, aged 13, fatally stabbed in her bedroom in West Bank by a Palestinian terrorist, June 30, 2016, The Guardian:

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jun/30/isra...

July, 21.2017: A Palestinian wielding a knife stabbed and killed three Israelis in Halamish, a settlement located north of Ramallah.

Hamas praised the attack. “We bless the heroic Halamish operation ...”:

    I hope this helps.

Palestinians in the Palestinian territories are not Israeli citizens, therefore they cannot vote in Israeli elections. They vote in the elections of the Palestinian Authority. Just because the players in that governing body doesn't actually act on their behalf doesn't grant them the right to vote in an election that actually does take constituent concerns seriously. Unfortunately their government is their government, and Israel's is not theirs.

Israel cannot allow free movement from Gaza and/or the West Bank because of the hostile action and terrorism threats that still remain. Movement into Israel was quite easy back in the day; however, the Intifadas have made it clear that Israel has to monitor the green-line borders. Threats against their populace are very real, so they're very justified in that regard.

Arabs in Israel have equal voting rights; in fact, it is one of the few places in the Middle East where Arab women may vote. Arabs currently hold seats in the Knesset.

Gaza is not a part of Israel, and nor does it want to be - the government there want to destroy Israel, it's written in their charter.

    1. Free movement across an artificial line in the sand - like all other borders.

    2. Voting in the Israeli elections - they are not citizens of Israel. In fact, based on the election in Israel last week, the majority of Israeli Arabs who can vote claim that they only vote in Palestinian elections.

Arab citizens of Israel can vote. Most Palestinian Arabs do not want to be Israeli citizens.

They are outnumbred, hated on, and much more. The war between the Jews and Palestinians is a well documented event in history that goes back thousands of years.. it's really sad whats happening to palestinians in their native country by white jews who came from Europe.. the world would probably be alot better without them.
