How can someone become a formula one driver?

What is the age group of being a driver? Can someone in their 30’s be a race car driver?

It's never too old to become a racing driver in club racing. However in relation to F1, the general rule is that if you are old enough to ask the question (and need to ask the question) then you are too old (and it's too late)...

Virtually all the F.1 drivers start as kids in karting.

you need charisma to schmooze the right people and you need to know about cars. a mechanic or mechanical engineer. the people with the money aren't going to just give anybody the keys to a formula one car. those cars cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and you have to gather a pit crew who respects and likes you. they can be the determining factor in whether you win.

30 is far to old. Most start as kids in go karts. Hamilton and Vettel for example.

You have to be both very good AND well connected. It's a big money game for big money people (typically).
