Can my friend go to jail for this? Amazon fraud?
He bought a phone online and then got a refund when it never arrived. However, when it finally did arrive he sold it to a phone shop. I'm worried that he could get into trouble, is there any way back?

Jail time would be unlikely unless he has a previous record of theft or something else more serious. However, he could get in trouble, be convicted of a misdemeanor, and set a bad pattern for the rest of his life.

Not if he is here illegally, all he has to do is go to a sanctuary city. They won't prosecute no matter how many crimes he commits.

More than likely Amazon won't even report the issue to someone that CAN file criminal charges unless they deamnd payment and he refuses to pay.
