There are all kinds of naive people. If someone wants to claim God does or doesn't exist, who am I to argue with them. They can believe what they want. Regarding Jesus, we have some archeological and historic evidence that he did live but we can argue about who is right in their belief, Jews, Christians, Muslims or others regarding who/what Jesus really was. It would be naive to think you know the truth and everyone else is naive IMO.
Those that believe in significant or harmful man-made climate change are generally naive in their beliefs as well in my opinion. They have a warped view of their own knowledge. In order to advance science, it is important to understand the distinction between observation, theory and "fact" and it is important to understand the limitations of our current knowledge. Too many people think their belief amounts to science and their belief is based on their naive view of the world and current knowledge. Sadly with AGW, the media, internet giant corporations (e.g twitter, Facebook, Google, Apple, Amazon, etc), hollywood and the Administrative state are conducting a political blitzkrieg on our society trying to convince a bunch of green shirts that we are killing the planet and we need to enact their agenda which would do nothing about warming but would certainly advance their wacko leftist agenda.
Is it because of liberalism? I no longer use the term liberal to describe leftists. I wouldn't say it was based on liberalism. I would say it was based on people's desire to believe in things bigger themselves and their desire to feel important.
