Best Answer: It had to be Mexico 1970; I was thirteen...and (in 2019), just about remember it now! Half the family wanted Italy to win, and the other, Brazil - and England were still sulky being kicked out by West Germany.
If anyone else remembers it, then they'll remember how 'colourful' the screens of colour TV's were.
2002 FIFA World Cup, the last team we had some real underdogs go very far in the tournament; Senegal and the USA in the QFs, Turkey and South Korea made the Semis, and teams like France and Argentina didn't even make the knockout stages.
Mexico 1986. Canada qualified (only time in my life), Maradona was at his best (and worst), the Final was incredibly compelling (Argentina up 2-0, then-West Germany tied the game late only to see Argentina win 3-2 with a goal with just over 5 minutes left).
2014 World Cup
Germany 4-0 Portugal.
Germany 1-0 France.
Germany 7-1 Brazil.
Germany 1-0 Argentina.

I've only seen three world cups I can remember, 2010, 2014, 2018.
Of those, 2010 was probably my favourite, I think because it was my first I'm biased, everyone seems to love their first world cup the most, as other people tell me 2010 was terrible. I also liked 2014 but I don't like Germany so them winning ruined it for me. 2018 was good but something just felt missing, it seemed like there was a general lack of quality to me.
