Religion is and always was all about money...

The selling of Indulgences comes to mind.

And the Canterbury Tales’ The Pardoner’s Tale.

A Pardoner, not a priest, in the 14th/15th century was someone who sold indulgences for the Church.

A Pardoner was an unordained medieval cleric who raised money for the church by the selling of Papal indulgences which offered the purchaser redemption from their sins and reduced periods of purgatorial punishment. Not surprisingly where salvation was available for purchase, the Christian doctrine of repentance and forgiveness inevitably grew corrupt. Pardoners were known to exaggerate the efficacy of their indulgences and claimed the authority to promise deliverance not just from purgatory, but from hell itself. Eventually plenary indulgences required purchasers neither to repent, nor to amend their lives in order to receive complete absolution from sin, causing pardoners to become scrutinized in life and satirized in popular literature/

It has always been all about money!

Proverbs 3:9 tells us to "Honor Jehovah with your valuable things, with the firstfruits of your produce." Giving Him the firstfruits was a way of saying 'thank you' to God for the harvest which he blessed.

Today we also want to give Jehovah our valuable things. This can include MONEY, for the upkeep of the building we use in our worship of him. The elders in our congregations have their own jobs, sources of income and support.

However, our valuables also include our TIME, our INTEGRITY, our DEVOTION. Some can do more and some not so much...Martha's expensive oil (Mark 14:3-9) and the widow's mite (Mark 12:42-44) We all have FREE WILL, the choices we make either to live in a manner that conforms to godly standards or not.

These are the valuable things Jehovah truly appreciates. HE does not need our money, but he appreciates the demonstration of our trust in Him. At Matthew 6:33, he states if we seek his righteousness first in our lives, he will take care of our needs, not miraculously, but he will bless our efforts. Malachi 3:10 is where he invites us to 'test him out'.

Please, don't let the selfishness of men stop you from learning about the true God, Jehovah. To learn more, go to JW.org.

God doesn't need our money. But other people do. How will his church exist and grow without means? Ministers should not labor for "filthy lucre," of course.

So the all powerful 'god' can create the Universe and Planet Earth of course but it can't put bricks and stone together to form a church or temple? Or even clean them?

    God doesn't need your money.

The church needs your money .. to give to charity .. to pay for the upkeep of the church .. or, in the case of American evangelists, to line their own pockets !

    Man-made gods need man-made money.

The Creator of this universe and all life in it needs nothing from us humans. It is we who need Him. Those who worship God in spirit and in truth come just as they are, with empty hands, and God is pleased to honor those who honor Him with sincere hearts and faith in Him.

So your church doesn't beg for money? A church exists only to acquire money, it is a business run for maximum profit. And should be taxed as such.
