Opinion to a situation?

If you made a survey and someone wrote a letter complaining that it doesn’t represent the general public, how would you respond back?

Without knowing the particulars of the content of the survey.

    I haven't got a clue?

I suppose you could respond if it matters? One person sure doesn't represent the general public, either. However, if your company policy/procedures encourage you to respond, then provide facts.

Demographics of the target population, demographics of the surveyed population, etc.

It's hard to respond if that's all you have for a complaint, too. If they didn't complain with their reason WHY they claim your survey wasn't representative, it makes me think they're just some busybody complainer.
