# HW HELP- variables?

A pop company wants to introduce a new flavor to their product line. They're debating whether Cherry-vanilla or Strawberry-mango has the best chance of success. They want to test them in supermarkets in New York, Chicago and Seattle. They set up booths for several weekends during July and August, and offer shoppers a cup of each soda. Half of the shoppers taste the Cherry-vanilla first while the other half taste the Strawberry-mango first. After tasting both sodas, each shopper is asked to fill out a short questionnaire and is then given \$2.00 coupons for participating in the company's survey.

What's the dependent variable?

What's the independent variable?

What are the levels of the independent variable?

Source(s): Women wear headscarves tied at the front to prevent headaches from sky pushing down and to prevent throat cancer; forgive me. Edit: Megatsunami for New York will be 450 yards; then engulfed-in-lava Los Angeles will be flooded too; then asteroid destroys Gulf of Mexico; only Alaska, Eurasia, and Africa remain (obviously without coasts); forgive me. Edit: 1st big earthquake in Russia; 2nd bigger one in China; 3rd biggest will be in the USofA (Greek Orthodox monk Elidiy from Africa); forgive me.

The questionnaire and the \$2.00 coupon are independent - don't change regardless of any of the other variables.

The flavors also don't change, but the order in which they are given do change, so the order of the flavors are dependent variables.

Since they are comparing the 2 flavors (independent) then the level is 2.

Source(s): Somewhat a guess, little internet searching. Hope it is correct.
