Do conservatives support Cindy Hyde-Smith to be a US senator to represent Mississippi?

As most folks are aware, Hype-Smith is an acting US senator representing Mississippi (appointed, not elected). She has made a number of questionable comments. She commented to one of her supporters, that if he held a public hanging she would attend and be in the front row. It is hard for me to see how that has no connection to the lynching of black people from a dark chapter of Mississippi's history. Do conservatives see that comment differently?

The creepier part is that she chose a hanging as the social event she would love to attend. What sane person wants to watch someone die?

At least she is not a big government Socialist, like her opponent. Socialism is for losers.

Source(s): Mississippi does not execute death row criminals with hanging at present.

Freebyrd's race card is old and worn out - like his mother from decades of turning tricks.

Hanging was the normal method of execution of people in the US in unpopulated areas and they were public events. Race did not make a difference. Lynching was the term used by the KKK for vigilante hanging of someone from a tree.

Look up the lynching of jesse washington. The kkk was so fundamental to southern society they were the law.

A public hanging implies a death penalty method prescribed by a court of law. Death by hanging used to be legal in the US.

A lynching is a vigilante mob acting without authority, and with malicious criminal intent.

This is all either faux outrage on the part of liberals, or ignorance generated outrage on the part of liberals.

She thinks segregation and lynching is good public policy. She is a good representative of the people of Mississippi.
