Say the perimeter of a square is 44 inches.

The formula P = 4s is used.

44 inches = 4s, where s is side of square.

44 inches ÷ 4 = s

11 inches = s

What if the area is 49 inches^2?

A = s^2.

49 = s^2

sqrt{49} = sqrt{s^2}

7 inches = side of square.

You find the area of a square by squaring the length of one of its sides.

If you know the area, you can find the length of each side by taking the square root of area.

• 2 years ago

Measure it with a ruler.

Take the square root of the area.

I suspect there is more to your question? Maybe specific information?

Otherwise, if you have a square, finding the side is straightforward.
