First I would say my experience with my christian friends and relatives allows me to remove your assertion of a carefree life, if anything their beliefs complicate their life more than need be, with few exceptions. Most of this trouble occurs not because they believe in magic, but because they subscribe to a man made religion that upsets their lives, many times causing them anxiety and depression and not the joy as advertised. Again there are exceptions and certainly religious theists that would make anyone envious but I think that says for about the individuals than the belief. Finally when I do go to christian funerals, I don't see relief in their faces but concern as the pastors often take this opportunity to rudely advertise their religion knowing they have a mixed audience of believers and nonbelievers which I find in very poor taste. We are there in memory of the deceased and to pay our last respects, not be advertised to.
