he was laughed off the democratic ticket......by democrats......every year he chose to run on his own...

....the only reason he was selected to be VP was that even the Kennedy Democrats who produced Obama to be their front man were terrified of the notion of a ticket with two minorities on it (in case you don't know, the Kennedy Democrats consider anybody from west or south of the Chesapeake to be a "minority")...

...he was appointed as the "safest" option as the Kennedy Faction had their guy on the inside while his 60-year old Frat Guy act made Obama seem positively regal in comparison...

...ask any journalist who was around DC in the 90s when Kennedy, Dodd and the rest of the "good old boys" clubs would drink 'til dawn with "showgirls" on each arm....ask them how little Joey Biden would play the role of yappy sidekick, lighting their cigarettes and feeding off their scraps...
