absolutely.. for example, it teaches good moral values - and that is just as relevant now as at anytime.. but from a Christian point of view - yes, it is relevant because it teaches us that we are not the masters of our own destiny. We often think we control things, but look at it, realistically, we control nothing! Throw us into a terrible situation and we even lose the ability to control our emotions. Be in a situation where you can't sleep for 3 days, or have no water to drink, and you lose the ability to think coherently. My point is, we control nothing, save by the grace of God. And when we start relying on God (which the bible teaches), life is dramatically different.
