God does exist. He is not cold or aloof. God is love. Yet, everything that goes wrong in a person's life they blame God or just says he does not exist.
Our times are really marked by economic hardships, violence, and injustice. Many people are overwhelmed by sadness, depression, and a sense of personal worthlessness. These feeling can be dangerous, because they undermine a person's confidence, paralyze their ability to reason and it robs us of joy.
Proverbs 24:10 says: If you become discouraged in the day of distress, your strength will be meager. We need our power, our energy, in order to keep going in this troubled world. So it is essential to keep negative feelings under control.
God is concerned about our feelings. Psalms 34:18 says: Jehovah is close to the broken-hearted; he saves those crushed in spirit.
God knows our emotional makeup. After all, as Psalms 100:3 says: " it is he that has made us, and not we ourselves." Even when we feel others do not understand us, we can be sure God does. 1 Samuel 16:7 For the way man sees is not the way God sees, because mere man sees what appears to the eyes, but Jehovah sees into the heart. Even our innermost feelings are not hidden from God. God is also aware of our mistakes and flaws, but he is also compassionate, merciful, and forgiving. God sees us as we may not see ourselves. He looks for the good and dismisses the bad, as long as we repent our sins.
To over come negative feelings, try building a relationship with God. Read his word the Bible with a sincere heart and in context. Meditate on his thoughts, his standards, and his principles. Put forth an effort to apply them to your life. These are the positive things that will help you to overcome the negative things in life.
