Where can I buy a straight wooden board to make a straight edge?

A basic ruler will do the job if you have no money to spend. Just clamp it onto a table to keep it steady.

I would not use a board. A piece of angle metal will work better. Aluminium angle will work well. And you should be able to get used bed frame steel angle irons fairly cheaply...

I would clamp a steel straightedge, much more chance of that being true.

I got an aluminum straight edge that is 8 feet long because I sometimes have to make straight razor cuts on wallpaper to butt join one paper to another.

As for a wooden board you need something like a particle board or a sheet of plywood as the factory edges are straight and 8 feet long.

I wouldn't use a piece of wood.
It's too hard to find one that's really straight any more.

A strip of aluminium would be better.

A lot of people use the edge of an I-beam (carpenter's) level
because it is supposed to be straight when manufactured.

If you need a longer one, get a "cutting guide".
