A delusional overconfident will remain overconfident even when provide with evidence that they're not competent. A non delusional overconfident person will stop being confident when provide with evidence(all external).
I'm very overconfident at times and even though I can sustain my overconfidence, an evidence of the opposite can make me under confident. It is not so delusional(call it microdelusion if you want).
Just a philosophical perspective 🤓.
