Thank you for this. I have never wanted Trump to be "larger than life" and I have never imagined for an instant that there's anything profound--or grandiose--about him. The way to diminish Trump is to let him be himself, continue to pitch hissy fits and throw monkey wrenches that keep his self-professed "allies" in the GOP from accomplishing any of their grandiose plans. They would return the United States to its not-lamented Gilded Age of the robber barons, or, worse, an imagined theocratic paradise where only those who pretend to christianity (while practicing its uttermost opposite) enjoy the fruits of power and the labor of others. So far, Trump's pettiness and incompetence have undercut their policies and plans (with the exception of judicial appointments and fifth-column destruction of cabinet agencies from within). Let Trump be Trump; there can be nothing worse or lesser.
