Boots, cowboy boots, aren't high heals? Sure, they aren't as high as some women's fashions, but they are higher than regular shoes? The difference helps to keep control of the stirrup.
Excessively high heals are bad for you. If not too high, they are good for certain muscles used by Kegel exercises. It also helps make a woman's derriere prominent.
The fact is that nobody is going to care about your private life as long as you are "decent" for public. On the job it could be a problem. I was shopping for my wife. A guy made "fun" of me for buying women's garments/shoes. I just made fun back. No big deal. Now buying make-up was a big deal. The clerk must have wasted hundreds of dollars of make-up trying to match the color that my wife wanted. She sent it on a piece of paper for matching. "Close, but not quite. Not this one either. Nope. Let's try this one." I eventually made it home. My wife was happy with the results. I wonder if the helpful clerk got into any trouble for helping me in such an unprofitable manner.
