He did the crime, and he deserves to be punished for it. Just because something unethical or immoral is common practice, does not mean you aren't unethical or immoral for partaking in the activity.
That being said, what he did in the past is not who he is today. It was 10 years ago, and it's, not as of yet, apparent of any pattern behavior. Also, what he did was not that horrific. It is gross, and it made the viewer uncomfortable, but it wasn't traumatizing like rape would be. Still, the women shouldn't have been put through that to begin with, he shouldn't have done it, and he deserves to be punished for it. But it's forgivable, especially because it isn't, as we know of, a pattern behavior. It is apparent in his behavior today that he's learned since then that it is inappropriate behavior that no woman should have to go through.
