I think the world/universe/atmosphere has it's own "heart beat" and, as in the past, the future is unknown. I do not believe something or an entity is dictating what happens, I just believe what will be, will be.
Ancient civilizations are being uncovered all over the earth. Something had to happen to make them extinct, like it happen to those civilizations on earth, it will happen to the current civilization on earth.
It is a cycle of life and death, for which the purpose is unknown.
Some want to bring religion into the reason for our existence. So be it. Howsoever, in order to believe in a religion, one has to have faith. To have faith is to believe in something for which there is no proof. That is exactly why there are thousands of religions practiced on earth today. People want to believe what they want to believe and that is their right. No religious belief is any more right or better than the next as it is all based upon faith. I think many people choose religion to help them cope with the unknown and tragedy. Some people want to believe there is something bigger than us, guiding us and to reward us for something or another. And, you know what? If that is what gets people by from day to day, so what?
Does an unknown entity dictate our universe? No, I do not think so, I think the planets have their own reasons for their existence and people are just a byproduct of which. It is kind of strange when you really think about it. Most people want a good life, nice things, relationships and happiness. In the end, like trillions of people before us, we all die and life goes on as civilizations die and are reborn. I can only assume that history will repeat itself because that is all we really know.
