Yes, I do, but not for everyone. Let me explain.
Anyone with compassion and empathy wouldn't be able to eat animal products if they fully absorbed what goes on behind "closed doors". There's a reason why slaughterhouses are hidden from public view. That said, some people simply don't see animals as anything more than property and commodities, and no amount of educating them on animal cruelty and suffering is going to change that. It's societal conditioning and brain-washing that enforces a disconnect between species (dogs and cats vs. cows, chickens, lambs and pigs), and some people will never change. There's also the people that work in the slaughterhouses. They clearly don't care about animals or animal suffering/welfare, or they wouldn't be able to do their job. They disengage themselves from their participation in the cruelty. So it's more complicated than simply saying yes or no. The truth is, it really depends on the person.
