Tricks to get out of the habit of a messy room?

I don't feel good unless my room is really clean, and spend about two days a week after work cleaning it up really well. But how can I get in the habit of just always putting things away so I never have to waste time doing tons of cleaning at once? But how can I get in the habit of just always putting things away so I never have to waste time doing tons of cleaning at once? I get stressed during the week and stop thinking about it and start throwing clothes on the floor and stop taking cups/bowls back into the kitchen. Any tips to break these habits?
