Is there a way I can install a connected router in Windows XP without the software for it?

I have a very nice Netgear wired "wireless" router. The problem is, I don't have the setup CD. I can only get online through free wireless hotspots in my area. Is there a way I can bypass the Netgear setup process, and have the computer directly recognize the router? Is there a way I can bypass the Netgear setup process, and have the computer directly recognize the router?

P.S.- It connects to the PC with an ethernet cable.
