Could you live on the income from investing a few million? Quite possibly, depending on how your investments do.
Could you live like a person of wealth? Absolutely not.
More important, people need to do something with their lives which makes them feel satisfied. Traditionally, that's been education followed by working, but if you opt to work no longer at your education or a job, then you need to invest that kind of time in something else that truly matters to you.
Maybe you'll be the volunteer who makes a food bank work for your community, or greatly improves the operation of the non-profit that serves developmentally disabled adults, or something like that.
But if you chill with friends, party, get into gaming, etc. I predict you'll be deeply unhappy within three years. That's fun but it has zero sense of fulfillment.
